Independent Non-Executive Director Chairman of Board of Directors (42)
Rizwan Desai joined the Board in 2002. He was appointed Board Chairman in 2009. He is a partner in the law firm Collins Newman & Co. and Director of a number of property development and investment companies. Mr Desai is Chairman of the Botswana Stock Exchange and also chairs the Board’s Credit Committee and Nominations & Remuneration Committee. He specialises in corporate and banking law. He holds LL B (Hons) and DIP.L.P qualifications from the University of Edinburgh and an LL M from Harvard Law School.

Managing Director (46)
Wilfred Mpai joined Barclays Bank of Botswana in June 2007 as Finance Director and the Board in October 2007. He is responsible for Financial Reporting and Control, Business Performance Management and Strategic Planning for the Bank. Mr Mpai was previously with Debswana where he held a number of positions in the Debswana/De Beers group including; Administrative Manager - Debswana Pension Fund; Financial Controller - DTC (London); Group Management Accountant; Financial Manager; Group Services Manager - Debswana. Wilfred is a Chartered Secretary (ACIS) and Chartered Certified Accountant. (FCCA).

Independent Non-Executive Director (59)
Lawrence Maika joined the Board in 2005. He is Chartered Certified Accountant by profession, having studied in the United Kingdom, and is a founding member of the Botswana Institute of Accountants. Mr Maika is the Managing Director of Nsenya (Pty) Ltd and also manages a firm of accountants. He serves on the board of the Botswana Meat Commission and chairs the Audit Committee of Barclays Bank of Botswana Ltd.

Kenneth Molosi is the Chief Executive Officer of EOH Consulting. Through involvement in various consultancies, Mr Molosi has developed a wealth of strategic business and technology related expertise in the public and private sector (locally and regionally) in a wide range of sectors including Telecommunications, Financial Services, Health Insurance and Tax Administration. He holds an MSc in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Science and Marketing.

Independent Non-Executive Director (44)
Mokgadi Nteta, is an MBA holder specialising in Human Resources Management. She also holds a BSc (Honours) in Applied Psychology. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, UK, Ms Nteta has over 20 years experience in the field of Human Resources, 13 of which were in senior management positions. She is the Managing Director of Fast Forward People Solutions Botswana, an HR Consultancy. Ms Nteta has previously held senior positions in the private sector including, HR Director, Kgalagadi Breweries (Pty) Ltd and Group HR Manager for Sefalana.

Independent Non-Executive Director (60)
Alfred Dube is the Managing Director of Lazare Kaplan Botswana (Pty) Ltd., a subsidiary of Lazare Kaplan International Inc. of New York. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors from the University of Essex in the UK. A Foreign Policy specialist, and career diplomat, Mr Dube began his career in 1978 and has held appointments as Botswana’s Ambassador to different missions around the world, including the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Independent Non-Executive Director (58)
Daniel Neo Moroka joined the board in May 2010, and is the Resident Director and CEO of De Beers Holdings Botswana. He also sits on the main De Beers Group Executive Committee and on the Board of Debswana Diamond Company and DTC Botswana. He has extensive work experience in both public and private sector in Botswana and Southern Africa. Mr Moroka has previously held senior positions including Manager for Retail Banking with Barclays Bank, General Manager for BP Botswana and Commercial Director for BP South Africa. He has also held a position as Minister of Trade and Industry responsible for policy formulation, foreign direct investment, international trade negotiations and relations, regulation and licensing of trade activities. Mr Moroka holds a BSc in Wildlife and Fisheries Ecology and MSc in Animal and Range Sciences. He also holds an Associate Diploma in Commercial Banking from the Institute of Bankers in South Africa and has completed a Programme for Management Development from the University of Cape Town.
