Application Process

Almost everyone salaried in Botswana can get a Barclaycard as long as you meet these criteria:

• You must be 18 years or older
• You must be younger than 65 years of age
• You must be a Barclays Bank account holder
• You must be salaried or receiving a regular income of BWP750 or more

Barclaycard Acquiring

Acquiring is an arm of Barclaycard Business with specialist services catering for every type of company, large or small with point of sale terminals for purchases of goods and services from these merchants’ business partners. Acquiring supports Card Issuance and usage by enabling business outlets [Merchants] to accept credit and debit cards for purchases.

We have over 800 Merchant accounts with us comprising large multinational chain groups to individual and Barclaycard processes these transactions made by customers with ease supported by a robust technology and system support. This was traditionally done by the Zip-Zap imprinters manually but today merchants have electronic terminals at their point of sales.
