Barclays recognises top performance

The Minister of Lands and Housing, Honorable Nonofo Molefhi, has lauded Barclays Bank Botswana for recognising the value and loyalty of its employees. At the recent employee awards dubbed ‘Eagle and Customer Service Awards’ celebrations held in Selibe Phikwe, Minister Molefhi congratulated Barclays for being the preeminent banking outfit in the world.

“It is a profound truth that employees are any company’s most important resource and asset. Employees are the key to the growth and viability of every enterprise,” said Hon Molefhi.

He commended employees for having demonstrated their capacity to lead, communicate, motivate and build effective work teams that represent the culture and values of Barclays. “I urge you to commit yourselves to a leadership role that will enable Barclays to continue to maintain public trust and confidence, as well as credibility.”

Barclays further recognised top performance recently by giving permanent employment to 25 Lead Generators (sales agents) who had continuously exceeded their targets at a glittering event in Gaborone. At the same event, Sedilame Malepa’s life changed dramatically when his dedication and hard work earned him a new Peugeot 207.

Other top performing Lead Generators won themselves a trip to London to watch Arsenal play Hull at Emirates stadium.

Together with a performance-based remuneration system, that recognises excellent performance, the Bank is able to inculcate a strong culture of productivity.
