“Excellent Customer Service is Key” – Johnson

The Barclays Bank of Botswana Managing Director, Mr. Thuli Johnson has congratulated all nominees and recipients of the 2008 Diamond Customer Service Awards, held in Gaborone last Wednesday.
These awards, organized by Service Bridges and Gabz FM, acknowledge individual employees who demonstrate outstanding customer service, flexibility and personal attention to develop and maintain relationships with customers.
Mr. Johnson says being nominated demonstrates the individuals’ commitment to outstanding customer satisfaction. This is important if we are to create a conducive environment to position Botswana as an excellent service provider.
He further lauded all employees from the various service sectors, who received awards on the night, and called on all service providers to emulate them in the execution of their duties.
Mr. Johnson also expressed gratitude that an impressive number of employees from across the banking industry were nominated with some emerging victorious at the ceremony.
“I am delighted that a Barclays Bank of Botswana employee, Mr. Michael Pilane from the Selibe Phikwe branch scooped an award under the ‘Product Knowledge’ category, with other banks’ employees similarly doing exceptionally well in various other categories. I commend these individuals and the banks they serve, for the great customer service, leading to this recognition. I encourage all bankers, and indeed all other employees in this country, to always be focused on customer service if we are to take our industry and the nation to an all new level of excellence” said Mr. Johnson.
He said this achievement reaffirms the commitment local banks have to providing excellent customer service, in line with the national Vision 2016.
Mr. Johnson encouraged nominees who did not receive any award not to despair but to continue working hard and living up to their companies’ brand promises.
Other categories awarded were Speed and Efficiency, Enthusiasm and Positive Attitude, Problem Solving and Complaint Resolution, Service Pride, Service Leadership Awards, Service League- Kgeleke, Naletsana, Promise and the Diamond Person of the Year.
