Cairo – 7 September 2009
Barclays Bank Egypt celebrated “Pamoja” day, a word meaning “together we can” in the Swahili language, by donating 137 hearing aids for 92 children with hearing disabilities valued at EGP 200,000. Barclays Bank believes that its commitment to the community goes beyond the commitment of the bank itself to include Barclays’ employees, who are always keen on donating money, time and effort in the service of the communities where they live. Barclays staff not only donated money for the purchase of the hearing aids equipment, they were also present on the day itself to distribute them to the children.
“We in Barclays Bank Egypt believe that to truly excel we must leave a positive impact on the communities where we operate. Our annual celebration of “Pamoja Day” takes place within the framework of our full support to sustainable development goals with the main aim of supporting the community” stated Ms. Omnia Elnosairy, Head of Corporate Affairs, Barclays Bank Egypt.
