Interest on credit balances

You will earn interest if you maintain a set minimum credit balance in your account. Interest on your High Value Current Account will be calculated daily and paid quarterly.

Overdraft facility

We understand that it is easy to slip into overdraft for short periods of time and that's why this account comes with an interest free overdraft of a set maximum to cover these circumstances. Additionally if you require a larger amount, you can apply for overdraft of up to 50% of your net monthly income. *

24 hour access

When you open a High Value Current Account, you will receive a free cash card which allows you to access your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our cash machines. But that is not all. If you have any other account with Barclays you can use your card to withdraw cash from that account as well.

No minimum balance

With a High Value Current Account, you do not need to maintain a minimum balance in your account. However, you will need to be earning a minimum monthly net income to open the account.

How to apply

To open a High Value Current Account, simply complete an application form and hand it over to a Personal Banker at your nearest Barclays branch. You will need to show evidence of your identity such as a Driving Licence, ID card or a valid passport. You will also need a copy of your pay slip or letter from employer.
