Open an Account in Barclays UK

Barclays Bank offers full banking services to personal customers through 1,700 branches in the UK. Opening an account with us is easy.

If you are moving to the UK and want to open an account with Barclays Bank, simply call 0044 1452 628 994 or send an SMS to 0044777 5555 385 giving the following details: name, telephone number and country. Our team in the UK will arrange an appointment for you with a personal banker at a Barclays Bank branch.

This appointment will be at a date, time and location that are convenient for you. The appointment will be confirmed in writing and you will also receive a map with directions to the branch you have nominated for your appointment.

Please refer to the notes below for additional information. Please note the following:

• Our team in the UK will be available from 09:00 -17:00 (UK) time to help you arrange your appointment.
• The advisors are English speaking only.

When opening your account, you will require any one of these documents:

• Passport
• Driving Licence (Note: must have a photograph)
• EU member State National Identity card

Also, in order to validate your address, you will require any one of these documents:

• Bank or credit card statement (note (1) not older than 3 months, (ii) internet bank statements are not acceptable) – a Barclays Bank Ghana statement is acceptable
• Utility bill (Note: (i) not older than 3 months, (ii) gas, water, land-line telephone and electricity bills are acceptable (iii) mobile phone bills are nota acceptable) – these can be from Ghana but requires your name on it and an address that you have lived at within the last 3 months
