Barclays Corporate Division is staffed by a dynamic, experienced and innovative team of managers, who cater exclusively for major corporate bodies, spanning a wide section of business enterprise, SMEs, Large Corporates including parastatal bodies and companies listed on the Stock Exchange. Each corporate customer is served by a named Relationship Manager who can provide local information on the market, major development projects, advice on matters such as commercial paper issues and so on.

Internet Banking for Corporate Customers

We offer Internet Banking to our Corporate customers with facilities such as account viewing and online transfers. We use the latest encryption technology and a system of token security with dynamic password which makes our online system very secure.

Current and deposit accounts

Accounts may be opened in all major foreign currencies as well as the Mauritian Rupee (domestic branches only). The main currencies we handle are US Dollar, (£) sterling, Euro, South African Rand and European currencies.

Loans and advances

We offer short and medium-term credit lines for working capital and asset purchase as well as longer term structured project finance in all major currencies. Syndicated Eurocurrency credit facilities are also available.

Foreign exchange

Spot and forward transactions in all major currencies.

Money transmission

Funds transfer of bank drafts by SWIFT.

Trade finance

Letters of credit; guarantees (tender, performance, advance payment, immigration etc); indemnities; bill discounting and negotiation; documentary collections.

All of these can be handled directly from Corporate offices using Barclays TradeDirect, the Barclays electronic trade finance system.

We can facilitate contacts with the legal, tax and accountancy professions in Mauritius and within the Indian Ocean Region.
