Barclays operations in Uganda started in 1927 with 3 branches in Central and Eastern Uganda. In 1969, the bank was incorporated as an independent subsidiary of the Barclays PLC. Barclays Uganda's growth of market share focused on the Corporate and High Net Worth (HNW) until 2006.
