The results we’d like to see

We want to:
  • Equip around 2,000 young people with the psychosocial and interpersonal skills they need such as communication, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Equip these young people with practical and technical skills such as business-management, financial-literacy and vocational skills
  • Teach them about HIV and AIDS prevention, helping them to make informed decisions, communicate effectively and lead healthy and productive lives
  • Closely mentor 500 of those 2,000 young people as they enter the world of work, through an ongoing structured internship/apprenticeship programme

About the partnership

About the partnership Barclays has joined forces with UNICEF to help children and young people around the world achieve a brighter future for themselves and their communities. The partnership will undertake projects in more than 10 countries and commit US$10 million in addition to employee volunteering time over three years.

The partnership aims to develop the skills of young people in the communities where Barclays operates by focusing on opportunities for education, employment, entrepreneurship and enterprise. The individual projects will help disadvantaged young people across the globe access education, find employment and start businesses.
