How Personal Reserve works

What you get:

  • An agreed Reserve amount up to which we’ll continue to make payments on your account
  • No interest payments on your Reserve balance
  • One Reserve Usage Fee for each period of five consecutive working days you remain in Reserve, no matter how many transactions you make within your Reserve limit
  • Set fees for transactions that would take you beyond your Reserve

Help when you need it most

Your Personal Reserve gives you an additional, agreed amount by which you can go overdrawn or exceed an overdraft limit. You’ll know the limit we’ll make payments up to, when we’ll return transactions as unpaid – and exactly how much you’ll be charged.

A set Reserve Usage Fee

No interest is payable on any amount in your Personal Reserve. You’ll incur one Reserve Usage Fee for each five-working-days period from the day you start using it, regardless of how many transactions you make.

Making payments

We’ll continue to make payments from your account, up to the limit of your Personal Reserve.

If you exceed your Reserve limit, you’ll incur a set fee for each returned or guaranteed transaction (up to a maximum of five fees a day).

Ready when you are

The Personal Reserve service is available to all personal sterling bank account holders subject to status.

Please not: Personal Reserve is not intended for regular use. If you require longer term credit, we have other financing options that may suit your needs.
