How to apply

To apply for a Cash Card account, you must be residing in the UK. Please follow these four steps below:

The documents you will need to provide are:

Your passport, OR current valid European Union National ID card which should contain a photograph of you and your signature.
Proof of either your UK address or your overseas residential address.

To prove your residential address, you must show:

Either your offer letter confirming your place on a course sent from UCAS or your UK University/College to your overseas residential address.
Or a Letter of Introduction for UK Banking Facilities from a recognised UK college or university, confirming you are in full-time, or part-time Higher Education, and confirming correspondence with your overseas residential address or your UK residential address.

Please note that if the letter does confirm correspondence at your overseas residential address, then please also bring one of the following, making sure that it states your name and overseas address in English:

Original Credit Card or Bank Statement, (no older than 3 months).
National Photo ID Card.

Proof of your UK residential address is preferred but not mandatory, you should show:

Either a utility bill in your name, a Bank / Building Society Statement, local council rent Card, Local Authority/Housing Association or Tenancy agreement, or a letter from Student Loan Company.
Or the Letter of Introduction for UK Banking Facilities from your University

Once you have printed, completed and signed the application forms, please visit your local Barclays Bank PLC branch with your documentation. You can find your nearest UK branch using our branch locator.

*To be eligible for a Student Barclaycard, youll need in your Student Solutions account either & #163;10,000* or more, or & #163;5,000* or more with evidence to prove that you have paid your University tuition fees for the year. This should be in the form of a receipt which must be on University stationery.
