Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions about the Family Package and Student Solutions.

Who has access to which accounts with the Family Package?
The parent has access to both their Savings Solutions or Premier Account and the Student Solutions account for peace of mind and control. The student has access to their Student Solutions account for their day to day money management but does not have access to the parents' main account.

Where do I go while in the UK for help with my banking?
The student can access help through any of the 1700 Barclays branches in the UK. Staff will be happy to help service their accounts. Furthermore, the student will have an International Telephone and Online Banking Account which they can log in to day and night, seven days a week, to manage their account.

What if I wait until I get to the UK, can I open up a Student Solutions account then?
It is possible to open a Student Solutions Account on arrival in the UK but applications must be processed through the branch network which may cause delays in activating your account for when you arrive. Furthermore, certain features of the proposition, such as the credit card are not guaranteed as in the Family Package. However, this is an alternative for the student if the parent does not wish to place £10,000 on account with Barclays International Banking.

Are there any fees?
Student Solutions is fee-free for the duration of the student's studies as part of the Family Package. However, if the Savings Solutions balance falls to under £10,000 at any time, a £5 monthly fee will be charged to the student account.

What if I don't have a letter from UCAS or a Tertiary provider?
If the student does not have a letter from UCAS or a Tertiary Education Provider, they must contact the UK Institution to request an offer letter to be sent to their permanent residential overseas address.

How old do I have to be?
The student must be at least 18 years old to apply for Family Package although the Student Solutions can be modified for students who are under the age of 18.

What if I don't have any statements with my address in English?
You should take or send the statements to your nearest Barclays Representative Office where a member of staff can authorise the documentation on your behalf.

How long will it take to open a Family Package account?
Your application will be processed within 7 working days of receiving the appropriate and completed paperwork.
