GRB Emerging Markets, India
More than 400 Barclays colleagues in India marked last year's Make a Difference Day by painting images reflecting on "how to make the world and India a better place". Selected paintings were featured in greetings cards and calendars, which were sold to raise funds for education charity Concern India Foundation. The funds went towards programmes in Mumbai supporting the education, training and welfare of 13,000 visually impaired children, orphans, and young people from the slums and rural areas.
Some previous Make a Difference Day volunteers:
In 2009 Barclays colleagues in 30 countries took part in the annual CSV Make a Difference Day volunteering campaign, with colleagues in Indonesia, Lithuania and Mozambique getting involved for the first time. Thank you to the thousands of volunteers around the world that gave time, energy and skills to bring real benefit to their local community. Don’t worry if you didn’t get a chance to volunteer in Make in Difference Day, we support volunteering initiatives all year round. Please go to 'Volunteer' to find out more.
