A flexible service to ensure a student's finances abroad are easy to manage
The Premium International Student and Family Service is an exclusive financial arrangement provided by Barclays Wealth for international students and their parents. The service is available to international students* intending to pursue Higher or Further Education in the UK and can be set up as a joint account in the name of a student and a parent or benefactor or, alternatively, an account in the student's sole name.

As a Student and Family client you have access to a wide range of banking products and services which are generally unavailable to overseas students* in the UK.

- A Barclays Wealth current account with a Sterling Connect card (VISA debit card) for day-to-day banking or VISA Electron card (if you are aged 16-17). Ability to withdraw up to £300 per day at Barclays cash machines, provided you have sufficient funds and up to £50 at shops offering cashback.

With our top-of-the range credit card, the Platinum Barclaycard (subject to application), you gain access to a great range of services including emergency help when travelling abroad; emergency cash advance and card replacement service; and travel insurance. You also get free membership with your parents to a worldwide personal assistant service from Ten UK, enabling you to arrange international travel door-to door. Lifestyle consultants can check availability and book hotels, cars, flights, concerts, sporting events and restaurants. This service would ordinarily cost you up to £900 per year.
