Equality & Diversity
Our strategy is founded on creating a virtuous circle of satisfied stakeholders. We believe that value is created and maximised when we meet the needs of shareholders, customers, employees, and the communities where we live and work. Equality & Diversity as a core enterprise is a key element in the success of those strategies.

Human Resources
Our sourcing decisions, contracts, and management of supplier relationships will reflect and promote the principles of the Barclays Equality & Diversity Charter in that they will ensure that suppliers do not victimise, harass or discriminate against any employee or party to the contract due to their gender, race, disability, age, religious belief, sexual orientation or part time status. Suppliers will be required to meet the requirements of any applicable discrimination legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Link to Barclays Equality & Diversity Charter.
Supplier Diversity
Success in the competitive financial services marketplace depends on our ability to provide better products and services to our customers whilst reducing costs. To accomplish this we will harness the competitive strengths and innovation of the supply market and provide leading edge solutions, services and products that generate value for all of our stakeholders. This will be achieved by seeking suppliers who demonstrate capability, commitment and proven results to help make our business and their own succeed.
We are committed to expanding opportunities for Small Medium Enterprises (SME's) to participate in our procurement activities. There are positive benefits in introducing more competition either directly or through sub-contractors from previously untapped suppliers because we believe that diversity is not only the right thing to do but makes good business sense.
Every effort will be made to make sourcing strategy and supplier selection processes more accessible to SME suppliers either directly or via agreement with prime contractors.
Equal Opportunities
Our suppliers will be treated fairly and equally during the tendering and purchasing process, with decisions being made on the basis of clear, transparent and communicated selection criteria.
